We have been helping organizations in various aspects of DEI, like DEI Audit, DEI council, Hiring practices, capability building, company policies and practices, one aspect that is often not known to many DEI Leaders and so gets ignored is building a community which happens via Employee Resource Resource Groups (ERG’s).
An ERG, is a group formed on the grounds of shared identities and experiences, to give voice to the underrepresented voices, fostering an inclusive culture. The 1st ERG (also known as affinity groups) was formed by Xerox by the black employees of the company in 1964.
